Natural shampoo bars are amazing for hair but because of the high pH of true soap you will need an acidic rinse. Natural soaps raise the “scales” that make up your hair. Acidic rinses act as a “toner” to smooth the hair and leave it silky and shiny.
Apple cider vinegar, Lemon juice and Kombucha can be used for your rinse. To make the rinse mix 1/2 to 4 tablespoons of the acid of your choice with 8 ounces of water in a squeeze bottle, spray bottle or other container. You will have to experiment to find a dilution that works for you. (Dry hair likes less acid and oily likes more.)
After shampooing apply the rinse. Apply the rinse onto wet hair. Massage into the hair and scalp, paying special attention to the ends. Let it sit for at least a couple of minutes or you can leave it on. Once the hair is dry the vinegar smell will be gone. Some find that using the rinse every few days works and others like to use it more often.
