Description
Your skin is your largest organ for assimilation and elimination. Transdermal, through the skin, is a simple and effective way to get things into the body. Magnesium has been widely studied and there are many resources available if you are looking for more information. Dr Mark Sircus has written a book that addresses the benefits of transdermal magnesium therapy. You can find it on Amazon. You can also find more information, (OSU research) here (what does magnesium do and are you deficient) here.
One of the most common uses for transdermal magnesium is aches and pains caused by sore muscles, inflammation, and even arthritis. One of the great benefits of magnesium lotion is you can apply it directly to the affected area. Better sleep is another great benefit of magnesium. Magnesium is calming to the body and when applied before bed can help you sleep better. I like to put magnesium lotion on the soles of my feet, my inner thighs or on my abdomen. The magnesium lotion needs to be on the skin for 20-30 minutes for maximum absorption but you can leave it on longer. Start with a small amount and increase it as your body adjusts.
